The mission of the Duke University Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery is to train the nation's future leaders in academic cardiovascular and thoracic surgery through immersion in a dynamic clinical, teaching, and research enterprise. The four pillars of the residency critical to supporting this mission include clinical training, academic productivity, didactic education and mentorship.
