About This Program
At UTSW, fellows spend most of their time at Children's Health, a 490-bed (level 1 trauma center, level IV NICU, PICU, cardiac ICU) children's hospital. Parkland Memorial Hospital, adjacent to Children's, has a 96-bed NICU that serves the Parkland OB service of >10,000 deliveries/year. Educational experiences include the OR, bedside, clinic, and the Simulation Center. Each year, the pediatric surgery service performs > 4,000 cases, sees >4,000 outpatients, and evaluates >1,000 trauma patients.
