Overview

UCMC is a Level 1 trauma center with 100 adult critical care beds. The SICU is 34 beds with admissions from trauma, general surgery, transplantation, surgical oncology, vascular, urology, ob/gyn and ENT. Additional sites include the NSICU and CVICU at UCMC, and the PICU at Cincinnati Children's for experiences in TBI, ECMO, and pediatrics respectively. Experience in trauma occurs throughout fellowship and fellows are encouraged to spend time on the trauma service for 1 to 2 months.
