UAB pediatric rheumatology has a high faculty-to-fellow ratio (5:1) with four research based faculty. Faculty expertise: juvenile arthritis therapy and microbiome, TMJ arthritis, and macrophage activation syndrome. The program is not dependent on fellows for work but focuses on training. UAB is the only program in Alabama and cares for a broad range of conditions. We focus on a reasoned aggressive approach to care with a goal of steroid-free remission as soon as possible.
