UVA health system serves a large area, including central VA, WV, and TN. We perform about 15 - 18 heart transplants per year and our durable mechanical circulatory support volume is projected at 30 implants this year. We have active structural heart, pulmonary hypertension, and Ped MCS/transplant programs. Fellows receive training in HF, mechanical circulatory support, and pulmonary hypertension. There are research opportunities with our HF faculty as well as other cardiology specialists.
