Overview

We are an Age-Friendly Healthcare System and home to Alabama's first Acute Care for Elders Unit (launched in 2008). We were the first Level 1 Accredited Geriatrics Emergency Department in the Southeast on our Highlands Campus since July 2021. Our program is highly flexible and learner-centered, allowing geriatric medicine fellows to arrange aging-related electives based upon their interests and needs.
