SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York is the only academic medical center in Central New York and the region's largest employer. Upstate University Hospital serves a geographic area covering one-third of the state -a region stretching from Canada to Pennsylvania. Upstate provides many unique services - Level 1 Trauma Center, Children's Hospital, Burn Center, Cancer Center, only senior emergency unit and NICHE designation, wide range of ambulatory clinics and Poison Center.
