Maimonides Medical Center is Brooklyn's largest hospital and tertiary referral center for the borough. It is a ACS verified Level 1 Adult Trauma Center and Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center. There is a 13 bed SICU that admits approximately 1200 patients per year with complex medical and surgical diseases, with exposure to all surgical subspecialties. There is the opportunity for appropriately trained individuals to take Trauma/EGS call with operating privileges.
