About This Program
The University of New Mexico sponsors a Surgical Critical Care and an AAST-accredited Acute Care Surgery Fellowship. The University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) is New Mexico's only ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center and only academic medical center. UNMH cares for a diverse patient population with complex surgical needs from a large catchment area. UNMH has over 3,100 annual trauma admissions, 25% with an ISS greater than 15, and 20% penetrating trauma with a high volume of operative cases.
