University of Alabama Hospital (Birmingham) Program
About This Program
The major goal of our program is to prepare neonatologists for academic careers and we place emphasis on excellence in basic science and clinical research with up to 2/3 of the fellowship time dedicated to research. Fellows rotate through the 120 bed unit at the University of Alabama Hospital (a regional NICU), and a 54 bed unit at The Children's Hospital of Alabama (a Level IV NICU with ECMO and neonatal dialysis), in addition to a month in the cardiac ICU and the newborn follow-up clinic.
