Virginia Commonwealth University Health System Program
Richmond, VA
Data Last updated: 2/22/2025
Fellows are trained to become proficient in ultrasound-guided FNA, using the resources of a dedicated Pathology biopsy clinic. All needle core biopsies are kept together with the smears and signed out by the Cytology service, providing continuous exposure of the fellows to surgical pathology of a variety of organ systems. Molecular testing of cytology specimens is an integral part of sign out, with the possibility of a rotation in the in-house molecular pathology division.
