About This Program
Predominantly clinical experience that occurs at UNM Hospital and its supporting clinical laboratory, TriCore Reference Laboratories (TRL). Emphasis is placed on cementing diagnostic accuracy in Pap smears and non-gyn specimens such as fine needle aspirate (FNA) specimens, endoscopic-guided biopsies, and specimens obtained by washings, lavage, and brushings. During the clinical months, the fellow will learn to perform ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirations from cytology-boarded faculty.
