About This Program
Our program is ranked in the top 25 in the nation. As the only Level 1 Trauma Center in Alabama, the program offers residents exposure to a diverse patient population. Residents graduate with over 4000 surgical procedures and cares for more than 31000 patients. The program has one of the highest numbers of residency operative cases in the country. Chiefs routinely finish with more than 3000 cases. Training opportunities include a 3-month dedicated research rotation, monthly & annual CME events,
