University of Alabama Hospital (Birmingham) Program
About This Program
UAB is a high-volume, NAEC Level IV epilepsy center. Our presurgical evaluation techniques include MRI, fMRI, MEG/MSI, PET, SPECT, intracarotid sodium amobarbital procedure, neuropsychological testing, intracranial EEG (stereo-EEG or grid/strips) and cortical mapping. Surgical treatments include laser interstitial thermal therapy, targeted radiofrequency ablation, responsive neurostimulation, deep brain stimulation, or vagus nerve stimulation.
