Overview

Residents are provided the opportunities to exercise clinical judgment and technique, achieving an optimal level of competence in practice in order to render care to anyone with conditions, which fall within the purview of practice in internal medicine. The resident has a unique opportunity to learn internal medicine in patient clinics, hospital rounds, and during conferences. General internal medicine training takes place during rounds on the teaching service.
