We offer a unique combination of individualized career planning, close mentorship and rigorous academic training in a safety net hospital setting with an emphasis on addressing healthcare disparities and social determinants of health to prepare our residents to provide excellent care to marginalized communities. PGY-1 applicants to this program with a gap of 1 year or more between medical school graduation and entry to residency must have the following experience occur during the gap: Clinical experience in the US or outside the US
