Specialty Description
Transplant Nephrology (Internal Medicine) is the study of diseases leading to kidney transplantation; evaluation of pre-transplant patients; management of waitlisted transplant candidates; evaluation and treatment of post-transplant patients, including managing transplant-related complications; providing expertise and kidney care for non-kidney solid organ transplant recipients; and complementing general nephrologists’ skills in the management of patients throughout their journey, particularly focusing on the more complex transplant needs.
