The University of Kentucky is the main referral source for tertiary medical care for Eastern Kentucky . This allows for a diverse patient population that includes patients who live in rural, suburban , and urban areas. The University of Kentucky Triple Board program offers elective rotation experiences in a number of sites that offer residents the opportunity to learn about multiple systems of care. These include clinics in the university setting, community setting, and school setting.
