University of Mississippi Medical Center Program

As a program associated with the only Level 1 trauma center in the state of Mississippi, we see a large number of indigent patients with poor access to healthcare. This provides trainees with an opportunity to serve patients with numerous complex comorbidities and pain syndromes that have been undertreated for several years. The challenge of creating comprehensive management plans and performing procedural interventions on this patient population prepares trainees for practice in any setting.
