Training in Cardiac and Thoracic surgery has a had long tradition at Vanderbilt. From the 1930s to the present, Vanderbilt has been a pioneering and proudly academic medical center. At its center is the notion that we are building modern cardiothoracic surgery, and fundamental to this is training residents.
