Overview

UW offers two general surgery tracks: rural and academic. The rural track prepares practice-ready leaders through rotations at two rural Wisconsin sites in PGY2-4. The academic track includes two years of research between PGY2-3, fostering surgeon-scientists in basic, translational, or clinical research. All residents benefit from UW's broad and diverse clinical experience.
