The paucity of fellowships affords residents an outstanding clinical experience. The academic medial provides opportunity for residents to engage in a wide range of research with national and international experts in basic science and translational research, health care disparities and outcomes research in the renowned Dartmouth Institute and limitless clinical and educational projects. The rural setting offers clinical experience in critical access hospitals caring for underserved population.
