University of Utah Health Program
About This Program
The program provides firsthand experience in all areas of medical microbiology through a series of structured bench rotations, lectures, independent research, and laboratory management experiences. The primary site for training is ARUP Laboratories, a large national reference laboratory performing routine as well as esoteric testing for infectious diseases (ID). Rotations at the University Hospital also provide exposure to hospital infection control, antibiotic stewardship and clinical ID.
