University of New Mexico School of Medicine Program

Albuquerque, NMLast Updated: 2/19/2026

About This Program

1. We have an OR and Trauma heavy program. Lots of autonomy and typical pairing is one attending and one resident per case. There is enough volume that we do not get overlap of residents with our fellows. 2. We offer all areas of Orthopaedic surgery and residents do not need to travel out of state to get all required cases and training. 3. We have a culture in the program that is more of a family and supportive of each other. 4. A unique patient population of rural and urban communities.
