Overview

SIU SOM Neurosurgery is a one-resident-per-year program based at two Level 1 Trauma Centers, serving patients from across a wide geographic region. This results in a high volume of complex and diverse cases, providing residents with a broad scope of clinical experience not readily available in more densely populated urban areas. The program's smaller size fosters early development of leadership skills and close mentorship opportunities, while still allowing a healthy work/life balance.
