UNC's AHFTC fellowship trains fellows for a career in advanced heart failure with the mentorship of 8 cardiologists and 4 surgeons. Our heart transplant and DT-LVAD programs began in 1986 and 2006, respectively. The 1-year training program is based on inpatient and outpatient rotations, including diagnostic testing and procedures. We support individualized training paths with elective opportunities including more ICU and pulmonary hypertension experiences, cardiac imaging, and research.
