Overview

Stony Brook is Long Island's premier academic medical center, Suffolk County's only tertiary care center, and a Regional Trauma Center. The Cancer Center has a fully staffed clinical trials office, which offers assistance with writing investigator-initiated trials, with satisfaction services, and numerous core facilities to enhance labs in the basic sciences, a high-volume bone marrow transplant unit, and a dedicated Palliative Care team.
