The SIU endocrinology fellowship prepares trainees for careers in private practice and academia. Fellows receive extensive experience with common problems including diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, and dyslipidemias, while also seeing uncommon disorders such as Cushing syndrome, acromegaly, and neuroendocrine hypertension. Fellows participate in quality improvement and clinical research projects and present interesting cases or research at national meetings in both years of training.
