Overview

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is a 1000-bed quaternary care hospital and the only major academic tertiary center for an estimated 5 million people in the Southeast. Residents manage a large number of patients with complex medical conditions in an environment that emphasizes resident autonomy, bedside teaching, science, and a physiology-based approach to medicine. Approximately 75% of our graduates enter subspecialty training, and a majority pursue academic careers.
