About This Program
The University of Hawai'i Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, founded in 2002, is a one-fellow, 12-month experience in affiliation with the University of Hawai'i John A. Burns School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency. The program is closely associated with the University of Hawai'i Athletics Department where the fellow serves as a supervised team physician to 500 student-athletes in 21 sports. The curriculum includes a robust didactic schedule and numerous clinical subspecialty opportunities
