Swedish Medical Center Rural Program
About This Program
Our mission is to provide a supportive training environment in full-spectrum, evidence-based family medicine, that develops exceptional community-centered physicians dedicated to the health and wellbeing of underserved rural populations on the Olympic Peninsula and beyond. We feel we have been meeting this mission with 5 of our 14 grads to date remaining on the Olympic Peninsula. We received RMTC recognition in 2025 with 87% of our grads in the last 3 years in rural practice. We work hard and have fun; the Olympic Peninsula is home to incredible beaches, trails, rivers and mountains to explore and Victoria BC and Seattle are close by. Our faculty is close knit and supportive and we value resident input as we continue to evolve.
