About This Program
SUNM is a 1+2 FM Program. Year 1 at UNM-academic tertiary care facility in Albuquerque, NM. Year 2&3 are at the rural Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, NM, part of the Navajo Nation Dine Bikeyah. The small program size allows residents to closely collaborate & receive mentorship from faculty. Faculty practice full-spectrum family medicine care, including inpatient, ICU, obstetrics & outpatient med. We offer an integrated Native Health Curriculum with didactic & experiential learning.
