About This Program
At AKFMR we offer a rigorous curriculum to prepare you for full-scope family medicine, with an emphasis on rural & underserved communities. Most training occurs in Anchorage, Alaska caring for a diverse, underserved urban population. Our patients in clinic speak >90 languages. All residents spend time in remote Alaska, working in small communities off the road system. Our graduates currently work in all settings, including outpatient, ER, OB, inpatient adult, inpatient peds, ICU, and fellowships
