UVM's Emergency Medicine Residency offers a genuinely rare training environment: a Level I academic medical center anchored in a catchment area of one million patients across Vermont and upstate New York, paired with longitudinal experience at rural critical access hospitals and community emergency departments. Residents develop the full spectrum of EM competency - from the complex, resource-rich environment of a tertiary referral center to the high-stakes autonomy demanded by rural and frontier
