About This Program

PGY 2/3 residents act as primary resuscitator for average >120 trauma alert activations during their training as there are generally no surgery residents staffing trauma alerts. Residents most commonly work 1:1 with an attending physician (who is also independently seeing patients) giving residents the cream of the crop in learning opportunity of cases arriving to the ED. Residents commonly perform procedures on attendings' patients as well. No IM or surgery residency in the hospital.
