IMGs require 3 years of IM residency in their home country and completion of USMLE Step 3. The program will sponsor either J1 or H1b.

Geisinger Infectious Disease Fellowship Program offers experiences from smaller hospitals to a state-of-the-art referral facility with a microbiology laboratory with cutting-edge technology and a CDC-designated biocontainment unit. Geisinger has a world-class reputation for informatics and innovation in utilizing technology, readily accessible to the trainees. Extensive referrals and onsite medical and surgical subspecialties provide unique opportunities to experience various infectious disease cases and pathology including solid organ transplant cases, hematologic malignancy program with robust stem cell transplant and CAR-T cell treatment. Fellows have ample opportunities to be involved in antimicrobial stewardship program and infection prevention & control team, participating in research and QI projects.
