Ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery deals with the management of deformities and abnormalities of the eyelids, lacrimal (tear) system, orbit (eye socket), and the adjacent face.

Ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery is a subspecialty of ophthalmology that deals with diseases that affect the area around the eye. Oculoplastic surgeons also specialize in cosmetic surgery of the face and eye area.
