  • Cover letter describing your interest in Johns Hopkins and your goals in Emergency Medicine
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Licensing exam score reports
  • USMLE Step 1, Step 2-CK, Step 2-CS (if available), and Step 3 (if available) or COMLEX Level 1, Level 2-CE, Level 2-PE (if available), and Level 3 (if available)
  • Medical school transcript
  • Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)
  • Three letters of recommendation, ideally following the SLOE format.  One must be from current program director
  • A list of rotations you will complete by 6/30/2026

We're seeking a motivated physician who will thrive in our program and contribute to our community. Applicants must: 

  1. Be currently enrolled in good standing in an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency program (PGY1 or higher)
  2. Have written approval from their current program director

Physicians currently enrolled in ACGME-accredited non-Emergency Medicine residency programs who are interested in transitioning to EM are encouraged to contact Dr. Ehmann directly to discuss eligibility.
